A Review of Translations
From Music Monthly - December, 2001
The Donegal X-Press has put out a tough and in-your-face Irish rootsy rockalicious release entitled Translations. You should pick this one up because it really is full of surprises. Hell, it even gets downright punky at moments. I really like this band - they have attitude, and that is all you need to make great music. We have Brad Dunnells singing and pickin'. Laura Hein on the keys and vocals. Lyle Hein is on the bass singing, with the occasional acoustic guitar thrown into the mix. Jeffrey Malcom is hittin' the skins. Skye Sadowski plays the fiddle which just happens to be my favorite part of it all. Jason Tinney rounds it all out on the harp and vocals. Think of The Pogues without all the tremendous booze swillage to make the words impossible to understand and you will get the idea for the most part...
